LRMTC's club championship continued last Sunday with a small but enthusiastic bunch of 30 plus riders tackling five laps of 10 sections at the Corcorans property. With some riders staying away from this event with our Qld titles coming up the following weekend and others wanting to get as much practice in as possible riders were treated to 50 sections incorporating mud, a, running creek, large rocks, a couple of climbs and some ultra technical turns. Section severity was ramped up a tad from previous rounds to give the riders some worthwhile practice for the following weekend and finishing scores reflected this.

Josh Lewis continued his excellent form in B grade loosing 35 ahead of Andrew and Stewart Platt on 92 and 114 respectively. Jordan Tricker made his official B grade debut with a solid ride to finish only 1 mark off third place.

Jim Reed 13, also continued his C grade club championship form with another win over James Turner, Brent Carlton and Scott Carpenter, 28, 38, 55 respectively.

Roger Galpin 28, switched classes from Classic to Twinshock on his square barrelled Tiger Cub to edge out fellow veteran George Lewis 35 and Adam King 120 both on TY's, while Bruce Curtis 29, brushed the cobwebs off his riding boots and came out to win Clubman grade. Paul Walsh 32, Evan Hunter 42, and Ian Pigott 44 took the next three places.

Other winners were, Joe Luft 65 Veterans, Isaac Luft 15 Junior, Stefan Carlton 38 Introductory and Braeden Curtis 114 Intro Mini.

Many thanks to all the helpers who worked hard to set this event up and to the Corcoran families who allowed us to use their wonderful properties.

5th round of the LRMTC club championship is at the Overflow, Boonah July 11th with a working bee the day before

And that’s just what we had, two days of fantastic riding, with the varying terrain found at Undullah giving no-one an advantage and producing some very close battles in some of the classes.

It was also great to see a few familiar faces make the trip up from down south to add a bit of State of Origin flavor to the event.

A huge Thank You to Kal Daley from KD Moto Trials for being our major sponsor for this event and to “Robert Eyres Building Designs” and “Stanfield Automatics” for chipping in as well.

MTCQ would also like to thank our small but dedicated band of volunteers who made this event possible by their Blood Sweat and Lantana scratches, and of course many thanks to those who Observed over the two days of the competition.

Congratulations to the 2010 Queensland Moto Trials Champion ~ Kyle Middleton. Well done on a great ride!

Cheers Don Rolands

This years Oz Trial Championship was held at Thunderbird Mountain Park located on Mt Tambourine in Sunny Queensland.  Sections were set in the Rocky River beds and hillsides at this picturesque venue.  With two days of heavy rain in the lead up to the event the 154 rider entrants would defiantly be in for a challenging weekend.

Day one had a lot of riders struggling to find rhythm with the difficult sections. After a relaxing night and talk over how to approach things on Sunday, riders were fired up to attack the course the following morning.

With the over all result and Congratulations going to  New Zealand import Jake Whitaker taking out the Open Solo Class on 47 points, Neil Price 2nd on 53 points and Colin Zarczynski rounding out the top three on 57 points.  Our own Brissy favourite, Boyd Wilcocks finishing in 5th place well done. But all the action wasn’t just with the open class boys, there was plenty to be found out and about with the other classes. Overall a great weekend.
